Abstract
This paper analyzes alternative dispute resolution as a means of resolving industrial/trade dispute in Nigeria. The subject dealt with the key terms identifiable under this study, which includes analysis, alternative, dispute, resolution, settling and industrial disputes respectively. In course of the analysis, some provisions of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria Act, 2006, Trade Disputes Act, 1976, National Industrial Court of Nigeria Civil Procedure Rules, 2017 and the National Industrial Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Center Instrument, 2015 were highlighted. Consequently, the economic effect of settling industrial disputes through ADR mechanisms was considered and course of elucidating that fact, it reveals inter alia that there will be attraction of foreign investment and foreign trade, sustenance of relationship and prevention of wastage as to time and resources. The study summarized the subject matter with findings and concludes with some recommendations.
